Welcome to Abbey Field Medical Centre

Abbey Field Medical Centre, formerly Mersea Road Doctors' Surgery in Colchester, provides the highest quality healthcare to patients in the area. Our doctors , nurses and all our other staff are dedicated to offering a professional service and this surgery website will help us to keep all our patients up to date with news and information about our practice.

Appointments

Consultations are by appointment. Please telephone 01206 517100 or call at reception or book via the internet.
You will be offered either a telephone or a face to face appointment.   Every day there are appointments with the Duty Doctor – these appointments are for problems which require immediate medical attention. Approximately one third of our GP appointments are available to book in advance.     All appointments with our nursing team or for blood tests should be booked in advance.
Most appointments last ten minutes and it is usually best to concentrate on one health problem during the consultation. Your doctor may ask you to make a further appointment to discuss the problem in more detail. However, if you have a number of problems you wish to discuss, you will need a longer appointment, therefore please let the receptionist know when you book.
